What is it? The roots of this flower are used medicinally. Blue cohosh grows throughout North America. Blue cohosh is not related to black cohosh (Cimicifuga racemosa); however, both herbs are primarily used to treat women’s health problems.
What does it do? Emmenagogue, antispasmodic, diuretic, diaphoretic and anthelmintic. It is said to be successfully used in rheumatism, dropsy, epilepsy, hysteria and uterine inflammation, specially for chronic cases. It is sometimes combined with Mitchella repens and Eupatoria aromatica. In use it is preferable to Ergot, expediting delivery, where delay results from debility, fatigue or want of uterine nervous energy.
Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, take 2 capsules two times a day with meals or a glass of water. Store in a cool, dry place.
