Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver, usually caused by a viral infection. The liver becomes tender and swollen. When this happens the liver is no longer able to fulfill it's role of filtering out the body's toxins.
There are three main types of hepatitis: A, B, & C, classified according to which strain they come from. There is also very rare forms of E and non-A, non-B.
